JEE Mains 2025 Exam Notification
JEE Main 2025 Exam Notification has been officially announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) with details regarding exam dates, eligibility, and the application process.. This exam serves as a gateway for admission into prestigious engineering, architecture, and planning programs across India, including NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs). Additionally, JEE Main is the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced, required for admission to IITs.
Exam Schedule
JEE Main 2025 will be held in two sessions, allowing candidates to improve their scores if they appear in both attempts.
Session 1
Exam Dates: January 22 – January 31, 2025
Registration Period: October 28 – November 22, 2024
Admit Card Release: Three days before the exam date
Result Declaration: By February 12, 2025
Session 2
Exam Dates: April 1 – April 8, 2025
Registration Period: January 31 – February 24, 2025
Admit Card Release: Three days before the exam date

Why Appear in Both Sessions?
Candidates can choose to appear in either one or both sessions. If a student takes the exam in both sessions, the best score will be considered for ranking. This provides an opportunity to improve performance and reduce exam pressure.
Exam Structure
JEE Main 2025 consists of two papers, each catering to different courses:
Paper 1 – For admission to B.E./B.Tech programs
Paper 2A – For admission to B.Arch programs
Paper 2B – For admission to B.Planning programs
Both papers will be conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format, except for the Drawing section in Paper 2A (B.Arch), which will be held in pen-and-paper mode.
Application Process – Step-by-Step Guide
Candidates can apply for JEE Main 2025 through the official website by following these steps:
1. Registration
Visit the official NTA JEE Main website: jeemain.nta.nic.in
Click on “New Registration” and follow the instructions to create an account.
2. Filling the Application Form
Enter personal details (name, date of birth, contact details, etc.).
Provide academic qualifications (Class 10 and Class 12 details).
Select the exam session(s), preferred test city, and paper choice (Paper 1 or Paper 2 or both).
3. Uploading Documents
Candidates must upload:
Passport-size photograph (as per prescribed format).
Signature (scanned).
Category certificate (if applicable).
4. Payment of Application Fee
Pay the fee online via debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI.
The application will be confirmed after successful payment.
5. Confirmation & Printout
Download and print the confirmation page for future reference.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) in 2023, 2024, or be appearing in 2025.
Age Limit
There is no age limit to appear for JEE Main. However, IITs, NITs, and IIITs may have specific age criteria for admission.
Subject Requirements
For B.E./B.Tech: Physics, Mathematics, and one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject.
For B.Arch: Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in Class 12.
For B.Planning: Mathematics as a compulsory subject in Class 12.
Exam Pattern
1. Paper 1 – B.E./B.Tech
Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
Question Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) & Numerical Value Questions
Duration: 3 hours
Marking Scheme:
+4 for correct answers
-1 for incorrect answers (MCQs only)
2. Paper 2A – B.Arch
Mode: CBT (except for the Drawing section, which is pen-and-paper-based)
Subjects: Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing
Duration: 3 hours
3. Paper 2B – B.Planning
Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
